See how a kimono is actually made. A guided walk through a working atelier in Fushimi — from the design room to the artisans dyeing and finishing cloth — with a small souvenir to take home. Weekdays only.
Kyoto Kimono Atelier & Yuzen Dyeing Workshop
Tour a working Kyoto kimono atelier, then dye your own yuzen piece under the artisans' eye — a framed artwork, a handkerchief, or an obi-age sash and stole depending on the option. Materials and tools included; the framed piece leaves with you, while silk items are finished at the atelier and delivered about a month later. Weekdays only.
Private Rickshaw Ride in Higashiyama
A rickshaw runner takes your group through the stone lanes of Higashiyama — Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka and the Kōdai-ji area — pointing things out along the way and stopping for photos. Priced per rickshaw for one, two or three riders; pick 30, 45 or 70 minutes. Wear a kimono from our Kiyomizu shop for the ride.
Osaka Sumo Show with Kimono Try-on
Former wrestlers put on a show around a real ring at a sumo restaurant near Kansai Airport; some seats add a chanko hotpot meal. There is a kimono corner you may try on before the show — a try-on, not a full-day rental. Seats are sold by tier; children and infants have their own prices.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book?
Book 3–7 days ahead for weekends and peak seasons (sakura in Mar–Apr, autumn foliage in Nov). Weekdays are often available same-day. For Furisode / Design Furisode plans during peak season, book 1–2 weeks ahead.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Cancel 2+ days ahead: free. 1 day ahead: 50% fee. Same-day: 100% fee. Date changes (not cancellations) are free if requested 24h in advance.
Can I book for a large group?
Yes! Groups of 6+ should contact us via Zalo/LINE for a private booking. We reserve all-day slots so staff can dress the whole group without waiting.
When do I pay?
Two ways: pay online when you book, or pay at the store counter on the day in Japanese yen cash or by card. You choose at the last step of the booking form; the amount for each is shown before you confirm. Paying online takes 10% off the kimono plan price; add-on options are charged at their listed price.
Do you have plus sizes?
Yes — OlaChill stocks S to 4L (heights 145–185cm). Note your top size and height when booking so we can prepare.
How long does dressing take?
About 30 minutes: pattern selection (5 min) + dressing & tying the obi (15 min) + hair set (10 min). Arrive 5 minutes early to stay on schedule.
Do I need to know how to wear kimono?
Not at all — OlaChill staff dress you completely, from the underlayer to the obi. Just stand relaxed.
What underwear should I wear?
Normal underwear plus a wireless top (a tank top works well). OlaChill provides the juban (kimono underlayer). Nothing special needed — just wear something easy to change out of.
