›Is there a cancellation fee?
Cancel 2+ days ahead: free. 1 day ahead: 50% fee. Same-day: 100% fee. Date changes (not cancellations) are free if requested 24h in advance.
›Can I book for a large group?
Yes! Groups of 6+ should contact us via Zalo/LINE for a private booking. We reserve all-day slots so staff can dress the whole group without waiting.
›When do I pay?
Two options: (1) VNPay online at booking — 10% off. (2) Pay at the store (JPY cash or Visa/Master/JCB) — full price.
👘Fitting & sizing
›Do you have plus sizes?
Yes — OlaChill stocks S to 4L (heights 145–185cm). Note your top size and height when booking so we can prepare. The Tokyo Plus Size plan (¥3,850) is dedicated to larger frames.
›How long does dressing take?
About 30 minutes: pattern selection (5 min) + dressing & tying the obi (15 min) + hair set (10 min). Arrive 5 minutes early to stay on schedule.
›Do I need to know how to wear kimono?
Not at all — OlaChill staff dress you completely, from the underlayer to the obi. Just stand relaxed.
›What underwear should I wear?
Normal underwear plus a wireless top (a tank top works well). OlaChill provides the juban (kimono underlayer). Nothing special needed — just wear something easy to change out of.
🌧Outdoors & weather
›What if it rains?
OlaChill lends umbrellas free of charge. Slightly damp kimono is fine — photos under a rainy umbrella have a beautifully romantic Japanese feel. Just avoid deep puddles.
›Is it OK in summer heat?
Japanese July–August is hot (35°C+). We recommend a yukata (¥{min}) instead of a multi-layer kimono. Yukata is a single layer of thin cotton — breathable and perfect for summer matsuri.
›Is it cold in winter?
Winter kimono comes with a haori/coat layer. OlaChill includes a haori free when temps drop below 15°C. Wear thick leggings underneath. Kyoto Dec–Feb can be 2–8°C, so bundle up.
›Can I hike in a kimono?
Short walks are fine — city strolls, temples, old streets. We don't recommend real hiking or rough terrain: the fabric tears easily and geta sandals aren't built for it.
↩️Returning the kimono
›When do I return the kimono?
Before the branch closes: 17:30 (Kyoto), 18:00 (Tokyo) or 19:00 (Osaka). If you can't make it, let us know in advance or a second-day fee applies.
›Can I return it later?
Two options: (1) Next-day return (+¥1,100/person) — return by 10:00 the next morning. (2) Hotel return (+¥1,100/person) — staff pick up from your hotel. Both let you shoot into the evening.
›What if I stain the kimono?
Light stains (dust, sweat) are fine — OlaChill cleans after every rental. Heavy stains (food, ink) may cost ¥3,000–10,000 depending on severity. A ¥550 insurance add-on waives liability.
›What if the kimono tears?
Minor tears (loose threads) are repaired free. Major tears (ripped fabric) cost ¥5,000–30,000 depending on damage. Very rare — just sit carefully and don't yank the obi.

›How much is the hair set?
From ¥500 depending on style. Standard plans include a basic hair set free. Pay extra for updos, fresh flowers or Japan-style curls. Available at all {n} branches.
›Is there a pro photo service?
Yes — Photo Service from ¥2,000. Kimono-specialist photographer, taken to the best spots (Sensoji, Fushimi, Arashiyama). 30-min shoot, 30 retouched photos delivered online within 3 days.
›Is there Wi-Fi at the store?
Yes, free Wi-Fi at all {n} branches. Outdoors for photos there isn't coverage, though — grab a Japan eSIM (from $11) to post to Instagram on the go.
›Are there lockers?
Yes, free lockers at every branch. Store backpacks, coats and shopping safely while you're out in kimono. Collect them when you return.
