OlaChill has 14 plans for full-day wear at the Tokyo Asakusa and Kyoto Kiyomizu shops. Shop prices start at ¥3,000 for kids and ¥4,000 for adults, up to ¥25,000; booking online takes 10% off. This guide helps you choose based on the season, occasion, and budget.
SUMMER (Jun–Sep): Lightweight cotton Yukata are the coolest and most breathable option — Men’s Yukata ¥4,000, Women’s Yukata ¥4,500. SAKURA (Mar–Apr) and AUTUMN FOLIAGE (Nov): Komongi ¥5,500, with small patterns that look elegant against the blossoms, or Kimono Ren ¥7,000, with a more modern style that stands out in photos. WINTER (Dec–Feb): Komongi ¥5,500 or Houmongi ¥12,000; wear a thin thermal layer underneath and you can walk comfortably all day.
SIGHTSEEING + PHOTOS: Komongi ¥5,500 (traditional) or Kimono Ren ¥7,000 (modern) — the two most popular plans. WEDDINGS / FORMAL EVENTS: Houmongi ¥12,000 for women, Montsuki ¥10,000 for men, and Tomesode ¥12,000 for married female family members. MAJOR PHOTO SESSIONS / COMING-OF-AGE CEREMONIES: Furisode ¥19,000 with long sleeves, or Design Furisode ¥25,000. WITH YOUNG CHILDREN: Boys’ / Girls’ Kids’ Kimono ¥8,000; accompanying adults can enter the shop free of charge.
Lowest for adults: ¥4,000 (Men’s Yukata) and ¥4,500 (Women’s Yukata). Mid-range ¥5,000–¥7,000: Traditional Men’s Kimono ¥5,000, Komongi ¥5,500, and Kimono Ren ¥7,000. Formal ¥10,000–¥12,000: Montsuki, Houmongi, and Tomesode. Highest: ¥19,000–¥25,000: Furisode and Design Furisode. Prices include tax and a full set of accessories (obi, sandals, and bag). Both OlaChill shops offer all 14 plans at the same prices, so choose based on where you plan to walk during the day. TOKYO — ASAKUSA: step outside to find Sensoji Temple, Nakamise Street, and the Sumida River; the streets are a great match for Komongi, with Kaminarimon Gate nearby for photos. KYOTO — KIYOMIZU: close to Kiyomizu-dera, the Ninenzaka–Sannenzaka slopes, and Gion; the historic streets pair well with Furisode and Houmongi. Return the kimono to the same shop where you rented it, or add Hotel Return / next-day return when booking.
