Lesser-Known Viewing Spots
The lively atmosphere of the main venue is part of the appeal, but for those who would rather avoid the crowds and enjoy the fireworks at a more relaxed pace, here are several lesser-known viewing spots.
Downstream riverbank along the Tone River: The riverbank downstream from the main venue tends to be less crowded and offers an unobstructed view, making it a relaxing place to watch the fireworks. It is also recommended for families who want to spread out a sheet and unwind.
Around Choshi Ohashi Bridge: Although this area is a little farther from the launch site, it offers wide-open views and a pleasant breeze while you watch the fireworks. If you are driving, using a nearby paid parking lot (advance reservations required) will make your visit more comfortable.
Aeon Mall Choshi: Aeon Mall Choshi is known as a comfortable place to watch the fireworks while shopping. The rooftop parking area may also be opened for viewing, and with easy access to restrooms, it is a particularly convenient spot for families.
Himawari-no-Sato Observatory: From the elevated “Himawari-no-Sato Observatory,” you can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Tone River. Although it is some distance from the Tone River waterfront where the fireworks are launched, the unobstructed view from the hilltop offers a different kind of spectacular experience.
Byobugaura: The combination of fireworks and the magnificent natural scenery of Byobugaura, also known as the “Dover of the East,” creates a breathtaking view found nowhere else. Enjoy the contrast between the beauty of the natural rock formations and the fireworks lighting up the night sky.
