💡 Tolls are charged by vehicle class, not rental price: a bus with 30+ seats counts as 特大車 (extra-large) and pays noticeably more per toll gate.
Includes driver & fuel; tolls and parking billed separately. Final price confirmed by quote.
🚌 Under Japanese law, charter buses always come with a professional driver — self-drive bus rental does not exist.

3–14 days · groups of 15–45 · custom itinerary and quote
Tokyo → Mt. Fuji → Kyoto → Osaka. The classic first-time-in-Japan itinerary.
Kansai down to Kyushu via Hiroshima. For groups who have done Tokyo and want the less-crowded half of Japan.
Flower fields in summer, snow in winter. Distances are long here — a private coach beats the train outright.
Stated up front so you can budget accurately — nothing appears as a surprise on the final invoice.
A 45-seat coach pays the large-vehicle toll band. A Tokyo–Fuji round trip lands in this range.
Tourist sites and hotels charge separately for large coaches; many require booking the bay ahead.
Only applies when the itinerary overnights away from the departure city. Dinner and breakfast are added.
The quoted rate already covers the vehicle, a commercially licensed driver, fuel and compulsory passenger insurance.
High season (+20% to +35%): cherry blossom mid-March to April, autumn leaves October–November, Golden Week in early May.
Low season: January, February, June (rainy season) and July (outside festival dates).
For 29- and 45-seat coaches in high season (March–April, October–November), request a quote 2–4 months ahead.
In Japan, carrying passengers for a fare requires a passenger-transport permit under the Road Transport Act (道路運送法), business-registered vehicles with green number plates (緑ナンバー) and a driver with the appropriate professional licence. Paid rides in private white-plate vehicles without a permit (白バス / 白タク) are illegal, and passengers may not be properly compensated after an accident. OlaChill only works with licensed operators using green-plate vehicles, always with a driver.
Your 10% deposit is refunded in full.
Half of your 10% deposit is refunded.
The 10% deposit is not refunded (bus reserved for you).
Cancellation charges apply only to the 10% deposit. The remaining 90% is paid at pickup, so you never owe it if you cancel. An agreed B2B or custom quotation may set different terms.
One request, one contact, one number. You never have to ring around operators.
Your itinerary is matched with approved green-plate operators able to serve the exact date and route. OlaChill checks availability, compares commercial terms, and selects a suitable option before sending your quotation.
📝
Date, pickup time, route, head count. Nothing to commit to, nothing to pay.
🔍
We price the request with licensed green-plate operators who are free that day, and pick the best option. Nothing for you to do.
💴
One clear price (with any separately billed costs listed), one contract, one number to call if anything happens on the road. Say no and that is the end of it.
🟩 In Japan, any vehicle carrying paying passengers must wear a green number plate (緑ナンバー). A white plate means the vehicle is not licensed to be paid for carrying people.
Three things every group leader asks us — answered plainly, before you send a single yen.
In Japan, any vehicle carrying paying passengers must wear a green number plate (緑ナンバー). A white plate means the vehicle is not licensed to be paid for carrying people.
This is not paperwork pedantry. If a white-plate vehicle has an accident while carrying your group, the commercial passenger insurance behind a licensed operator is simply not there.
Every operator on OlaChill hands over their green plate and their charter passenger transport licence number (一般貸切旅客自動車運送事業) before they are allowed to quote. No licence, no work.
Japanese charter fares are built from two meters running together: one for time and one for distance. Two operators can quote differently on the same trip because their garages sit at different distances from your pick-up point.
The clock does not start when you board. It starts when the bus leaves its garage and stops when it gets back. A tour you think of as eight hours is often billed as nine.
Vehicle size and season move the number too. The same route in cherry-blossom week or the November foliage peak costs more than the same Tuesday in February — there are only so many buses in Japan.
Included: the vehicle, the driver, fuel, and the operator's commercial passenger insurance. You do not pay these separately.
Billed on top: expressway tolls and parking. These depend on the exact roads taken on the day, so no honest operator can fix them in advance.
On trips running past midnight or across several days, the driver's meals and lodging are added — and by law a second driver may be required. We tell you this at quote time, not on the invoice.
OlaChill combines its own coach operations with access to a nationwide network of 1,000+ licensed bus operators across Japan. Coverage across all 47 prefectures of Japan.
Our own licensed operation is based in Osaka and runs buses under 9 m (small and mid-size). Full-size 45–60-seat coaches, and trips outside the Osaka operating area, are arranged through the nationwide operator network.
