Alternative viewing spots
Here are several places to enjoy the fireworks in the clear winter air.
Open areas around Kurobe Kanko Hotel Roadsides near the hotel, slightly away from the main venue, are relatively open and are suggested for a quieter experience. Fireworks are launched in front of the hotel, allowing an impressive view. The area is also relatively convenient for tour coaches to stop.
Accommodation within Omachi Onsen Fireworks may be visible from many local hotels and ryokan. Staying near the launch location can offer a warm, comfortable setting for enjoying the fireworks and drums. Ask when booking whether a room with a view is available.
Slightly more distant elevated ground Some places around Omachi Onsen are a little higher than the main venue. From farther away, visitors may enjoy the contrast between the resort's night scenery and the fireworks. However, winter paths are dark and can be slippery, so bring a torch and take particular care.
