By train Get off at Mashiko Station on the Moka Railway, then walk approximately 10 to 25 minutes. From the station, it is best to follow the flow of people heading toward the festival venue. The festival is expected to end around 9 p.m., but heavy crowds are anticipated. Be sure to check your return train schedule in advance and allow plenty of time.

By bus Take the Kanto Bus bound for Mashiko from JR Utsunomiya Station. After approximately 70 minutes, get off at either the Sayadokami bus stop or the entrance to the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art bus stop, then walk approximately 3 to 5 minutes.

By car Mashiko is approximately 20 to 25 minutes from either the Moka IC or the Sakuragawa-Chikusei IC on the Kita-Kanto Expressway. There is no dedicated parking near the venue. Please use municipal parking lots, such as the “Togei-no-Oka West Parking Lot 1 and 2,” “Togei-no-Oka East Parking Lot,” and “Togei-no-Oka North Parking Lot.” However, severe congestion is expected on the day, so using public transportation is strongly recommended.

The open area around the Mashiko-yaki Kiln Owners’ Cooperative Sales Center The area around the Mashiko-yaki Kiln Owners’ Cooperative Sales Center, adjacent to the main venue at the Mashiko Kanko Minami Parking Lot, offers a relatively spacious area. By keeping a little distance while still feeling the energy of the venue, you may be able to enjoy the show in a more relaxed setting. Many food stalls will also be set up, making this a good place to enjoy the atmosphere of the festival as a whole.

2. Small lanes just off Jonai-zaka Street Jonai-zaka Street, Mashiko’s main thoroughfare, is crowded with visitors during the festival. If you look for a small lane just off the main street or a slightly elevated spot, you may be able to view the glow of the handheld cylinder fireworks from a distance while avoiding the crowds. However, your view may be obstructed, so it is recommended that you scout the area in advance.

3. The observation tower at Mashiko Forest (Mashiko Prefectural Nature Park) Mashiko Prefectural Nature Park, which stretches east of Mashiko Station, is home to a 20m-high observation tower.
