The “2026 Yassa Fireworks Festa,” the grand finale of the Mihara Yassa Festival held every summer in Mihara, Hiroshima, is a large-scale fireworks display that lights up the night sky with approximately 8,000 fireworks. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular 40-minute show that blends tradition and innovation.
Event Overview
Details S seats in the front row offer an especially thrilling experience, with the fireworks seeming to burst right before your eyes.
Venue and Map
The fireworks are launched from the mouth of the Numata River and offshore from the Kaino quay. Viewing areas include the Dote viewing venue and the Enichi viewing venue. Reserved seating is available at the Wadaoki venue.
Access
The nearest station is JR Mihara Station. It takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to walk from JR Mihara Station to the Dote viewing venue.
If you are driving, the venue is about 30 minutes from the Mihara-Kui Interchange on the Sanyo Expressway. However, extensive traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue on the day of the fireworks, so using public transportation is strongly recommended.
Temporary parking lots will be available, but spaces are limited and heavy congestion is expected. Each reserved seating area includes parking for one vehicle, but the number of free parking spaces elsewhere is limited to 360 vehicles. Please never park without permission at nearby commercial facilities.
Trains departing after the event will be extremely crowded, and the last-train times may be moved earlier. Check JR service information in advance and allow plenty of time for your journey.

Hidden Viewing Spots
Since the area around the venue becomes extremely crowded, the following spots are recommended for those who would prefer to watch the fireworks peacefully from a little farther away.
- Around Mihara Port Ferry Terminal The area around Mihara Port is considered one of the best places to see the fireworks. Although it is close to the venue, it offers relatively unobstructed views. The area around the ferry terminal is especially popular because you can enjoy the fireworks together with the nighttime scenery of the harbor.
- Sunami Coast Area The Sunami Coast area, located slightly south of the venue, is another hidden spot where you can watch the fireworks in relative comfort. Enjoy the fireworks launched over the water while feeling the sea breeze.
- Elevated Area South of Mihara Station There is elevated ground south of Mihara Station where you can look down and enjoy the fireworks. You can avoid the crowds while taking in the beautiful contrast between the city lights and the fireworks.
- Fishing Harbor Around Itozaki Station From the fishing harbor located about a 15-minute walk from Itozaki Station, the stop next to JR Mihara Station, you can watch the fireworks across the water. It is a little farther from the venue, but it is an ideal location for those who want to watch in a relaxed atmosphere.
- Coast Beside the Mihara City Sewage Treatment Plant The coast beside the Mihara City Sewage Treatment Plant is known by locals as a “super hidden spot.” With no obstructions, it is said to offer close-up views of the fireworks. Some reports also say that it is easy to secure a spot even if you arrive in the evening.
For these hidden viewing spots, we recommend using public transportation or arriving early enough to secure a place.
