Getting there

  • By train The venue is approximately 20 minutes on foot from Uchita Station on the JR Wakayama Line. Large crowds are expected, so allow plenty of time. Check the final train departures in advance to avoid missing your return service.

  • By car The venue is approximately 10 minutes from Kinokawa IC on the Keinawa Expressway. Around 1,000 parking spaces are provided nearby, but public transport is recommended because congestion is expected. Roads become particularly busy immediately before and after the fireworks. Traffic restrictions also apply, so check local signs and the official website for up-to-date arrangements.

Paid seating and tickets

No paid viewing seats are offered to the general public at the 2026 Sukiyassho Kinokawa! Dream Fireworks and Citizens Festival. The fireworks can be watched free of charge.

However, the festival accepts sponsorship contributions towards the fireworks. Kinokawa residents, businesses and organisations contributing at least ¥10,000 can enter a lottery for designated parking. A total of 190 spaces are available across the Noasobi no Oka car park, Kinokawa Citizens Park swimming pool car park and the park's tennis court car park. Applications for designated parking usually close at the end of June. Check Kinokawa City's official website for details.

Lesser-known viewing spots

Heavy crowds are expected at the main multipurpose plaza. The following alternatives may suit visitors hoping to watch at a more relaxed pace.

  1. The Kinokawa River riverbank a little farther from the venue Moving slightly upstream or downstream from the main venue may lead to a less crowded position with beautiful views of the fireworks reflected in the water. The embankment itself can still become busy, so choose a safe position and follow any rules on reserving space.

  2. Around Noasobi no Oka This area is relatively close to the venue and contains one of the designated car parks. It may offer a somewhat calmer viewing experience while remaining close enough to sense the main festival's atmosphere.

  3. Other open areas within Kinokawa Citizens Park Open spaces are available elsewhere in the park, outside the multipurpose plaza. They are a little farther from the main launch area but may be worth exploring. Trees and other obstructions could affect the view, so checking beforehand is recommended.

These are possible quieter locations rather than guaranteed options. Crowd levels depend on conditions on the day. Arrive early to find a suitable position.
