Alternative viewing spots

Here are several locations for visitors who would prefer to avoid the heaviest crowds.

  • Watari-gawa Green Space On the Gudo side, a few minutes north of the Red Iron Bridge on foot, this embankment area is described as relatively less crowded and offering a head-on view. It is suggested for visitors seeking a calmer setting, with the possibility of enjoying food and drinks while watching.

  • Shimanto River Campsite The broad riverside lawns provide space to watch at a relaxed pace. Use is free, but advance notification is required. There is also a car park with 72 spaces.

  • Tamematsu Park This elevated park is a little farther from the main venue. It may provide an overview of the display together with the surrounding night scenery.

  • Anjuann accommodation: rooftop observatory, rooms and open-air baths On top of Shiroyama, Anjuann has a rooftop observatory reserved for staying guests, with views of fireworks rising nearby. Some rooms also have fireworks views, and guests may watch from the open-air baths. Staying here is suggested for those who would prefer to avoid the journey's crowds and enjoy the display from their accommodation.
