Access
Marine Park Omaezaki, the venue for the Omaezaki Minato Summer Festival, is primarily accessible by car or public transportation, including buses.
By Car
- From the Tomei Expressway’s “Sagara Makinohara IC,” take National Route 473, then National Route 150 toward Omaezaki. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.
- From the Tomei Expressway’s “Kikugawa IC,” the drive takes approximately 35 minutes.
- Parking: Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 free parking spaces are expected to be available around the venue, but capacity is limited. Parking is expected to fill up early, as it does every year, so visitors are encouraged to carpool whenever possible. Heavy congestion is particularly expected after 17:00, so arriving by the 16:00 hour is recommended.
- Traffic restrictions: Large-scale traffic restrictions may be implemented around Marine Park Omaezaki on the day of the fireworks festival. Check traffic information in advance and allow plenty of time for your journey.
By Public Transportation
- From JR Shizuoka Station, take a Shizutetsu Justline bus bound for the Sagara Sales Office for approximately 1 hour. At the Sagara Sales Office, transfer to the independently operated Sagara–Omaezaki Line bus for approximately 25 minutes, get off at the “Omaezaki Kaiyo Center” bus stop, and walk for approximately 20 minutes.
- Bus services may be limited, and significant delays or cancellations may occur on the day of the fireworks festival. Buses are also expected to be extremely crowded, so be sure to allow plenty of time.
- Last train and bus home: The bus stops are expected to have long lines as crowds leave all at once after the fireworks. The final bus service may run earlier than usual, so check the timetable in advance and take care not to miss it.
Reserved Seating and Tickets
As of 2026年7月, no official announcement regarding reserved seating for the Omaezaki Minato Summer Festival has been confirmed for the general public. In the past, some information indicated that “because there is no reserved seating, choosing your spot is especially important.”
However, some websites have promoted offerings such as “special viewing-seat tickets (limited to 5 groups),” so a limited paid viewing area may be available. For details, check the latest information on the official website of the Omaezaki City Event Executive Committee (Omaezaki City Commerce and Tourism Division) or the Omaezaki City Tourism Association.
Lesser-Known Viewing Spots
Here are several lesser-known spots where you can enjoy the fireworks at the Omaezaki Minato Summer Festival at a more relaxed pace.
- Lawn area at Marine Park Omaezaki Although this is the main venue, the central area near the launch site is extremely popular, and you will need to start claiming a spot by 17:00 at the latest to secure a good location. Bring a leisure sheet or similar item to mark out your space and enjoy the fireworks in the park’s wide-open surroundings.
- Around Omaezaki Lighthouse The area around Omaezaki Lighthouse sits on higher ground, allowing you to watch the fireworks while looking down toward Marine Park Omaezaki. This spot is recommended for those who want to enjoy the fireworks in a more peaceful setting, away from the bustle of the main venue.
- A little farther along the Omaezaki coastline The coastline a short distance from Marine Park Omaezaki may offer a chance to watch the fireworks while avoiding the largest crowds. The area around “Omaezaki Kaiseng Nabra Market,” for example, is one possible viewing spot, but be aware that its parking lot is also expected to be crowded. Arriving early and exploring the area to find your own ideal viewing position can be a pleasant option.
