The Abe River Fireworks Festival (安倍川花火大会), which vividly colors the summer night sky of Shizuoka City (静岡市), is a historic fireworks display that began in 1953 (Showa 28) with a prayer for the repose of war dead and a wish for post-war reconstruction.
