Held at Fushiki Port, Takaoka's maritime gateway in Toyama Prefecture, the Fushiki Port Festival and Summer Fireworks is a traditional celebration wishing for the port's development and the local area's prosperity. Getting there

Public transport is recommended for the Fushiki Port Festival and Summer Fireworks.

By train The nearest station is Fushiki Station on the JR Himi Line. Allow approximately 10–15 minutes to walk to the venue. Some descriptions call it “right nearby,” but this amount of walking time is a more realistic allowance. The station becomes very crowded after the display, so leave enough time and check the final train departures in advance.

By car The venue area is approximately 15 minutes from Takaoka IC or 20 minutes from Takaoka-kita IC on the Noetsu Expressway. For navigation, use “Takaoka City Fushiki Community Center,” at 13-1 Fushiki Minatomachi, Takaoka. Traffic restrictions are planned around the venue. In previous years, restrictions have applied from 18:00 to 22:00 over both Saturday and Sunday. Check the official website for the latest arrangements.

Parking There is no dedicated parking around the venue. A temporary car park with space for approximately 300 vehicles is planned at Minatomachi Park, but heavy congestion is expected, as in previous years. Public transport is strongly recommended.

Paid seating and tickets

No paid viewing seats are provided for the 2026 Fushiki Port Festival and Summer Fireworks; viewing is free throughout. Advance ticket purchases are therefore unnecessary. Arrive early to secure a position if you want a good view.

Lesser-known viewing spots

Because the festival takes place in an open port setting, the fireworks can be seen from a relatively wide area. The following locations may offer opportunities to enjoy the display while avoiding some of the crowds.

  1. Around Fushiki Manyo Wharf Green Space The launch area is known as an excellent place to watch. As the main venue, it becomes crowded, but its main attraction is the chance to see fireworks over the sea at close range, without obstructions. Arrive early to find a viewing position and experience the full impact of the display.

  2. Kokubu Seaside Park A little farther from Fushiki Manyo Wharf, Kokubu Seaside Park is an attractive open space overlooking the sea. Although farther from the launch point, it is recommended for visitors who prefer a spacious, relaxed viewing area. Parking is available, and the park is also popular with people enjoying swimming and marine sports.

  3. Views from higher ground Small hills and elevated areas are scattered around Fushiki Port. Suitable locations are limited, but a viewpoint a little farther away may let you avoid the crowds and see the display as a whole. The combination of town lights and fireworks has a different kind of beauty. Check the surrounding terrain on a map beforehand to identify a place with an open view.
