Event Overview
Venue and Map
The main venues for the Furusato Kanko Kamiichi Festival are the Nishinakamachi Shopping Street in central Kamiichi and the area around Hakuryu Bridge over the nearby Kamiichi River. The fireworks are launched from the riverbank along the Kamiichi River. The shopping street comes alive with festival plazas and food stalls, creating a lively atmosphere.
Access
Public transportation is the most convenient way to get there.
By train The venue is about a 5–10-minute walk from Kamiichi Station on the Toyama Chihō Railway. From Dentetsu-Toyama Station, it takes about 16 minutes by limited express or about 25 minutes by local train on the Toyama Chihō Railway. The station becomes extremely crowded after the fireworks end, so we recommend purchasing your return ticket in advance or using an IC card. Be sure to check the time of the last train as well.
By car Parking is limited around the venue, so using public transportation is recommended. Vehicle restrictions will also be in place around Nishinakamachi Shopping Street on the day of the event. Traffic congestion is expected on surrounding roads, so plan to allow plenty of extra time.

There have been reports that paid seating was available along the embankment in the past, but as of the latest information for 2026, no paid viewing seats have been announced. As a result, you may need to claim a spot on the day. We recommend arriving early to secure a good viewing location.
Recommended Viewing Spots
The fireworks at the “Furusato Kanko Kamiichi Festival
Along the Kamiichi River (a little away from Hakuryu Bridge) Crowds are expected around Hakuryu Bridge, the main venue. Consider moving a little upstream or downstream to avoid the crowds and find a more relaxed viewing spot. However, please follow proper etiquette and do not enter private property or restricted areas.
Open areas in central Kamiichi The fireworks are said to be visible from central town, where “large blossoms of fireworks can be seen rising into the night sky.” If you find a reasonably open location in central Kamiichi, you should be able to look up and enjoy the display. Another option is to enjoy the lively shopping street and move to a viewing spot shortly before the fireworks begin.
Elevated or slightly raised areas If you find a slightly elevated location around Kamiichi, you may be able to enjoy the contrast between the townscape and the fireworks from a distance. However, take care not to enter private property or dangerous areas.
When looking for an alternative viewing spot, we recommend checking the terrain in advance using Google Maps or a similar service and confirming that there are no obstacles between the launch site and your viewing location.
