The venue also moved from the area around Muya River Waterfront Park to Naruto Otsuka Sports Park, evolving into a multifaceted event featuring not only fireworks, but also music, laser lights, stage performances, festival stalls, and a market.
In 2026, it will again be held as the eve-of-festival event marking the opening of the Naruto Awa Odori.
This information is current as of July 2026. Be sure to check the official website for the latest updates before heading out.
Important: The venue has changed

Highlights
Music Fireworks × Laser Lights
The event may seem small-scale based solely on its approximately 1,000 fireworks, but this is not the kind of event that competes on the number of fireworks. It is designed as a production show combining music and laser lights with the fireworks, all condensed into 20 minutes.
Eve of the Awa Odori
The Naruto Awa Odori begins the following day. You can watch the fireworks on August 7 and enjoy the Awa Odori from the next day onward, making this an efficient itinerary if you are planning a trip to Tokushima.
An Event You Can Enjoy All Day
The event begins at 17:30, with stage performances, festival stalls, and a market. The fireworks take place during the final 20 minutes. Arriving early and enjoying the entire venue is the best way to experience this event.
Access
By Train
It is approximately a 20-minute walk from Naruto Station on the JR Naruto Line.
Be careful about the last train home. There is no confirmed information for 2026 regarding whether special trains will operate. If you plan to use public transportation, be sure to check the last train schedule in advance.
By Car

- Approximately 15 minutes from the Naruto-kita IC
Temporary parking lots (shuttle buses scheduled to operate)
- Parking lots around Naruto City Culture Hall
- Naruto City Hall parking lot
- Parking lots around the Otsuka Pharmaceutical factory
Parking is limited, and major traffic congestion is expected. The use of public transportation is recommended.
Traffic Restrictions
Traffic restrictions will be implemented around the venue from 16:00〜around 22:00, and some areas will be closed to vehicles.
Paid Seating and Tickets
There is no paid seating for viewing the fireworks. Viewing is free.
However, for the stage event seating, a priority-entry system requiring advance applications (by lottery) has been introduced to prevent heatstroke and ensure safety. Admission is free. If you also want to watch the stage performances, check the official website for the advance application period.
Viewing Spots
Since the venue has moved, the former tips about little-known viewing spots around Muya River Waterfront Park are no longer applicable. Possible options around the new venue include the following.
1. Inside Naruto Otsuka Sports Park (around Pocari Sweat Stadium and the No. 2 Athletics Stadium)
This is the main venue, but because the grounds are extensive, you should be able to find relatively spacious viewing areas. Because it is inside the venue, getting around is easy, making it the most reliable option.
2. Around Naruto City Culture Hall
This is one of the locations where temporary parking will be available. Although it is a little farther from the venue, you may be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the fireworks, making it suitable for those who want to prioritize getting their car out quickly afterward.
3. Nearby Higher Ground
Naruto Otsuka Sports Park itself is located on elevated ground, but from even higher spots nearby, you may be able to enjoy the fireworks together with Naruto’s nighttime scenery. Please check the exact locations locally.
