Detours during busy periods and the last train home
Roads around the venue become extremely congested on the day of the festival, so consider using public transportation. Hidden Viewing Spots
Here are several lesser-known spots for those who want to avoid the crowds or enjoy the fireworks from a different angle.
Iwaki River riverbank (downstream from the venue, around the rear of the Civic Gymnasium) This is a convenient location relatively close to Hokuto Ground, the launch site, where you can enjoy a full, unobstructed view of the fireworks from the front. The expansive grassy area offers open views, making it possible to spread out a leisure sheet and watch comfortably in a picnic-like atmosphere. Although it is relatively less crowded, visibility is excellent and the acoustics are good, allowing you to fully appreciate the fireworks. Use the area along the river behind Goshogawara Civic Gymnasium, around 17 Azahigashimachi, Goshogawara, as a reference point.
Around the Tachineputa Museum This spot is appealing for its convenience: it is close to JR Goshogawara Station, making it easy to head home after watching the fireworks. Since it is somewhat distant from the venue, it is better suited to those who want to avoid the crowds and take in the overall display rather than experience the fireworks up close. Food stalls may also appear in the area, allowing you to enjoy the festival atmosphere.
Rural area along the Elm Bypass This lesser-known spot is recommended for those planning to watch the fireworks from their car. Because it is a little farther from the venue, you can enjoy the display calmly while avoiding the crowds. With few obstructions, the contrast between the expansive rural landscape and the fireworks is beautiful, making this a good location for photography as well.
Kikugaoka Sports Park This is one of the ideal viewing spots for families. The spacious grounds give children room to play while waiting for the fireworks. Although it is somewhat far from the launch site, choosing a location with a clear view should allow you to enjoy the display at a leisurely pace.
