Situated within Bandai-Asahi National Park (็ฃๆขฏๆๆฅๅฝ็ซๅ ฌๅ), the unique terrain formed by volcanic activity and the rich, ever-changing seasonal nature continue to captivate visitors.
The Bandai Azuma Skyline first opened in 1959 (Showa 34) as Japan's first toll mountain road. However, as part of tourism recovery efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake (ๆฑๆฅๆฌๅคง้็ฝ) in 2011 (Heisei 23), it became free of charge. Since July 25, 2013 (Heisei 25), it has been permanently free to access. This has made it easier for more people to enjoy its spectacular scenery.
