By Car Take the Chubu-Jukan Expressway and exit at Takayama IC. On festival days, traffic restrictions are imposed in the city center and major parking lots fill up, so using a municipal parking lot near the station or taking a park-and-ride service is recommended.

Cancellations and Postponements

Both festivals go ahead in light rain. However, because rain can damage the floats, karakuri puppet performances and the float procession during the night festival may be canceled in heavy rain or typhoon conditions.
