Lesser-Known Viewing Spots

Here are several recommended spots for those who want to enjoy the fireworks while avoiding the crowds.

  • Riverbank near Asahibashi: This is a classic spot close to the launch area, but from a slightly more distant section of the riverbank, you can enjoy a relatively unobstructed view of the large starmine displays and creative fireworks. Fireworks with Asahibashi in the background are especially photogenic.
  • Kaguraoka Park: Since it is located a little farther from the venue, this spot is recommended for families and others who want to watch the fireworks in a relaxed setting away from the crowds. You can enjoy the show in a spacious park with a picnic-like atmosphere.
  • Arashiyama Park Observation Deck: From the observation deck at Arashiyama Park, northwest of central Asahikawa, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city’s nightscape and the fireworks at the same time. The fireworks appear small because of the distance from the venue, but it is ideal for those seeking a romantic atmosphere.
  • Rooftop parking lot at Aeon Mall Asahikawa Station Front: The rooftop parking lot at Aeon Mall Asahikawa Station Front, directly connected to JR Asahikawa Station, is a convenient hidden gem to visit while shopping. It offers a broad view of the fireworks and makes getting around easy. However, parking availability and visibility may vary depending on crowd levels on the day.
