How Much Does a Private Airport Transfer Cost in Japan?

Kyoto, Nara and Kobe share one price, so the choice between them is about your itinerary rather than the transfer budget. A family landing at KIX and heading straight to a Kyoto hotel pays ¥25,200 for the car, door to door, with the luggage handled once.

Hokkaido: New Chitose to the ski resorts and onsen towns

Hokkaido is where a private transfer earns its price. Trains and buses from New Chitose reach Sapporo easily, but the ski resorts and hot-spring towns involve changes, timetables and snow.

For a ski group of five with skis and boots, the Niseko transfer at ¥54,000 works out at ¥10,800 per person for a door-to-door car in winter conditions. Ski bags count toward the luggage capacity, so tell us how many you are bringing when you book.

Ski transfers from Tokyo

These are long drives, and the price reflects the distance and the expressway tolls, which are included. They make most sense for a full car with ski equipment, or for a group whose hotel is far from the nearest Shinkansen station.

What the price includes

• Meet-and-greet in the arrivals hall. Your driver waits at the arrivals gate holding a name board.
• Flight tracking. Give us your flight number and the driver follows your real landing time. If the flight is late, we wait at no extra cost.
• Fuel, expressway tolls and waiting time. There is nothing to settle with the driver at the end.
• A private car. The car carries only your group, never shared with strangers.
• Bottled water on board.
• Child and infant seats, free when requested at booking.
• Room for folded strollers in the luggage bay, and foldable wheelchairs if you tell us in advance so we send a car with space.

Not included: parking outside the agreed route, and any vehicle class other than the Alphard, which is quoted separately.

Drivers hold a commercial licence and run airport routes daily, so they know each terminal's exits, waiting bays and rush-hour timing. The evening before your trip we email the driver's name and mobile number. Drivers speak Japanese; English support is available 24/7 on LINE.

Cancellation rules

Because flights are tracked, a delayed arrival is not a cancellation. If your flight is cancelled outright, contact us as soon as you know; the earlier we hear, the more of the fee we can avoid.

If you want the car for longer than the transfer

A transfer is a single journey. If you would rather keep the car and driver for a few hours, for a stop at an outlet mall on the way from Narita, or a half day around Tokyo before checking in, the same Alphard is hired by the hour:

How this compares with the train

A private car will always cost more than one train ticket. The comparison changes with the size of the group and the amount of luggage. Four people arriving at Narita with two suitcases each will each need a train ticket, then a taxi or a walk from the station to the hotel with the bags; the ¥19,500 car does the whole leg in one go and splits to under ¥5,000 per person. Is the price per person or per car?

Per car. Two guests or six pay the same flat price, which already includes fuel, expressway tolls and waiting time.

How many people and suitcases fit?

Up to 6 guests and 4 large suitcases per Alphard. A larger group, or a group with more luggage, takes two cars.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track the flight number and the driver waits for your actual landing time at no extra cost.

Are expressway tolls included?

Yes. Fuel, expressway tolls and waiting time are all in the listed price. Only parking outside the agreed route is extra.

Do you provide child seats?

Yes, child and infant seats are free when requested at booking.

My hotel is in Yokohama, Disney Resort or Hakone. Is there a price?

Not on the flat-price list. Those destinations are quoted individually on the airport transfer page.

What is the cheapest private airport transfer in Japan?
