Most Tokyo cherry blossoms have already fallen by early May, but a small set of late-blooming spots stay vibrant into the second week. Mt. Takao's mountain-side yamazakura typically peaks two weeks after the city; the boat-ride view at Chidorigafuchi runs night illumination through May 10. Yoyogi Park's perimeter trees and the cherry section at Shinjuku Gyoen also hold late color thanks to mixed varieties.
