Venue and map
The main venue is the riverbank of the Toki River, which crosses the city, particularly Asano riverbank and the area around Ceratopia Toki. Colourful fireworks inspired by the city's bellflower and the flames of Mino ware kilns fill the night sky. From around the evening, stalls line the roads north and west of Ceratopia Toki, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Getting there
By train
The venue is approximately 10 minutes on foot from Tokishi Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. Heavy crowds are expected, so allow plenty of time. Return trains are also likely to be busy; check the final departure times beforehand.
By car
Allow approximately 10 minutes from Toki IC on the Chuo Expressway or approximately 15 minutes from Toki-Minami-Tajimi IC on the Tokai-Kanjo Expressway. Traffic increases sharply across the city on the event day, so leave extra time for your journey.
Parking information:
- Municipal car park north of the station: A paid car park with capacity for 376 vehicles.
- Toki City Hall car park: Free parking is available.
- Parking around Ceratopia Toki: Ceratopia Toki normally has 240 free spaces, but on the fireworks day some areas are affected by restrictions or used as festival headquarters and a first-aid standby area. General viewing and reserving places are not allowed in these areas. Paid parking around the station or the City Hall car park is recommended for the event.
Traffic restrictions: Restrictions cover a wide area on the day. In particular, the embankment road between Tokitsu Bridge and Shin-Tokigawa Bridge near the launch site, and Asano Green Park, are subject to traffic restrictions and entry bans from 13:00 to 22:00. Vehicles are prohibited from the general viewing area from 16:00, when spectators can begin securing viewing places. Check the detailed restriction map on the Toki Chamber of Commerce and Industry's official website in advance.
Paid seating and tickets
There are no publicly sold paid seats for the Festival of Flames, the 68th Toki Oribe Festival Fireworks. Some materials do, however, suggest the presence of invitation or sponsor seats and camera seats. General spectators watch from the free areas.
Lesser-known viewing spots
The main Toki River riverbank venue offers close-up views but is expected to be very crowded. The following are several locally recommended alternatives for visitors who prefer a more relaxed experience.
Grassy areas on the northern riverbank Across the river from the main venue, the northern grassy area offers an unobstructed, head-on view. Visitors can spread picnic sheets and sit comfortably, making it a recommended option for families and couples.
Along the pavement north of Ceratopia Toki This spot is close to the venue and convenient to reach. Watching from the pavement also lets you enjoy the atmosphere of the nearby stalls. It suits visitors interested in the accompanying programme, including the sky-lantern release shortly before the fireworks.
Higher ground around Toki City Hall Several elevated spots around City Hall offer downward views towards the fireworks. Being a little farther from the venue, they suit visitors who want to avoid the crowds and see the whole display.
Higashi Park This park is a little walk from Tokishi Station but is considered a good position for viewing fireworks. Its open space may offer a comparatively relaxed experience.
Toki Premium Outlets Although some distance from the venue, this is a place to watch the fireworks from afar. It is recommended for visitors who want to combine shopping with the display or keep well away from the main crowds.
