Three days is enough to leave Nagoya after the Asian Games, see Tokyo, get to Mt Fuji by helicopter, sleep in the Hakone area, and drive back to the capital with a driver. This plan does that for a group of up to four. It uses the helicopter taxi between Tokyo and the Fuji region and a private car for the return, so you fly one way and see the countryside the other.
Two facts frame everything. Helicopters depart from Tokyo, the Mt Fuji region and Yokohama; there is nothing in Nagoya. And Nagoya to Tokyo by Shinkansen is about 1h40, so the transition from the Games to this plan is a single train ride.
Day-by-day outline
Day 1: Nagoya to Tokyo. Shinkansen in the morning, hotel check-in, afternoon and evening in the city. Nothing time-critical.
Day 2: Tokyo to Fuji by helicopter taxi, Hakone overnight. Meet at Tokyo Heliport in Shin-Kiba, fly to the Fuji region, spend the afternoon around the lakes or in Hakone, overnight in a ryokan or hotel.
Day 3: Fuji region back to Tokyo by private car. A driver collects you, you stop where you like on the way, and you are back in Tokyo for the evening or in time for a late flight home the following day.
Day 1 in detail: arrive and settle
Reserve Shinkansen seats in advance. Around the closing ceremony on 4 October, trains out of Nagoya will be full. Once in Tokyo, choose a hotel on the central or east side of the city if you can; the heliport is in Shin-Kiba in the bay area, and a shorter morning journey on day 2 removes the biggest risk in this plan, which is arriving late.
Spend the rest of day 1 on the ground. Walk, eat, look at the skyline you will be above tomorrow. Get to bed at a sensible hour.
Day 2 in detail: the helicopter taxi

Day 2 afternoon and night: Hakone
Once on the ground in the Fuji region, the afternoon is yours. Hakone is the classic overnight: hot-spring baths, a ryokan dinner, an early night. Whether Mt Fuji is visible from your room depends on the weather, and October does not guarantee it, so treat any view as a bonus.
Book the ryokan well ahead. Early October is a pleasant season and the Games will bring extra visitors through Tokyo.
Day 3 in detail: the car back
A chauffeured car collects you from your accommodation and returns you to Tokyo. The hourly chauffeur service works in 2-hour minimum blocks, and the price table is on the tariff page rather than in this article. The advantage of the car over the train is stops: a lakeside viewpoint, a shrine, a late lunch, all decided on the day with the driver.

Weather contingency
Late September and October is still typhoon season, and the Fuji region gets its own cloud. If the helicopter is cancelled for weather, you receive a full refund or a free change of date. You can also change the date yourself free of charge up to 4 days before.
Build the fallback into the plan: if day 2 is cancelled, go to Hakone by road or rail instead, keep the ryokan, and either move the flight to day 3 as a scenic loop from the Fuji side or take the refund. Do not book the helicopter for the last morning before an international flight.

Is the helicopter taxi a sightseeing flight?
It is a transfer between Tokyo and the Fuji region, with views on the way. If you want a route designed around the mountain and Hakone, book one of the scenic loops instead and travel to your accommodation by road afterwards.
Can we take suitcases on the helicopter?
No. The cabin is small and every kilogram counts towards the 120 kg per seat limit. Take an overnight bag each, leave main luggage at your Tokyo hotel, and collect it on day 3.
What happens if the weather is bad on day 2?
