Three days is enough to leave Nagoya after the Asian Games, settle into Tokyo, fly to the foot of Mt Fuji and be back in the capital the same evening, with a spare day for the weather. This plan does that for a group of up to four. On day 2 you fly one way from Tokyo to Mt Fuji in 30 to 35 minutes, and a seven-seat Alphard with a driver is waiting at the landing pad for the day and the drive back.
Two facts frame everything. The helicopter leaves from Tokyo Heliport in Shin-Kiba, on the bay side of Tokyo; there is no helicopter flight from Nagoya. And Nagoya to Tokyo by Shinkansen is about 1h40, so the move from the Games to this plan is a single train ride.
Day-by-day outline
Day 1: Nagoya to Tokyo. Shinkansen in the morning, hotel check-in, afternoon and evening in the city. Nothing time-critical.
Day 2: Tokyo to Mt Fuji by helicopter, back by Alphard. Meet at Tokyo Heliport in Shin-Kiba, fly to Oshino Heliport at the foot of the mountain, spend the day around Oshino Hakkai and the lakes with the Alphard and driver, and ride back to Tokyo in the evening.
Day 3: the spare day. If day 2 flew as planned, day 3 is yours: the city on foot, or a short flight over Tokyo. If the weather moved day 2, this is the day it moves to.
Day 1 in detail: arrive and settle
Reserve Shinkansen seats in advance. Around the closing ceremony on 4 October, trains out of Nagoya will be full. Once in Tokyo, choose a hotel on the central or east side of the city if you can; the heliport is in Shin-Kiba in the bay area, and a shorter morning journey on day 2 removes the biggest risk in this plan, which is arriving late.
Spend the rest of day 1 on the ground. Walk, eat, look at the skyline you will be above tomorrow. Get to bed at a sensible hour.
Day 2 in detail: Tokyo to the foot of Mt Fuji
The flight is the Tokyo to Mt Fuji helicopter with an Alphard waiting at the pad. The aircraft is an Airbus AS350 with large panoramic windows, and it carries up to four passengers. It lifts off from Tokyo Heliport and sets down at Oshino Heliport, right under the mountain, after 30 to 35 minutes, with Tokyo Bay, the city and the mountains beneath you. By road the same trip takes about two and a half hours on the expressway.
At Oshino a seven-seat Alphard and a driver are waiting beside the pad. The day runs through Oshino Hakkai, a ryokan lunch by Lake Yamanaka and the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, and the Alphard then drives you back to Tokyo. Points to plan around:
- Meeting time. The time on the booking is when you meet at the heliport; the flight departs roughly 30 minutes later. Be early.
- Seats and weight. Up to four passengers, 120 kg per seat, and a total cabin limit that the product page states. Luggage counts. You sleep in Tokyo again that night, so leave everything but a small bag at the hotel.
- Booking margin. Same-day bookings are usually not possible, so book with a few days to spare.
The whole aircraft for up to four, one way by air and back by Alphard, is ¥664,200. Single seats are also sold, at ¥184,500 per person.
If you would rather have a scenic loop than a one-way flight, the alternatives are the 75-minute Mt Fuji and Hakone scenic flight (3 seats, ¥412,650 per guest, minimum two), the 90-minute deluxe route over Hakone and Kamakura (3 seats, ¥494,100 per guest) and the 120-minute grand circuit (4–5 seats, ¥6,199,200 for the whole aircraft). All three leave from Tokyo Heliport and return there, so they replace day 2 without any driving.
Day 3 in detail: the spare day
Keep day 3 free of anything that cannot move. If day 2 was cancelled or moved for weather, this is where the Fuji day goes, subject to availability.
If day 2 flew, you have a Tokyo day. For one more look from the air, the 10-minute first flight over Tokyo leaves from the same heliport in Shin-Kiba at ¥53,820 per guest, for two to 3 guests. Do not book any flight for the last morning before an international departure.

Weather contingency
Late September and October is still typhoon season, and the Fuji area gets its own cloud. For the Fuji flight with the Alphard, the weather call is made the day before: you hear from us by 15:00, never at the pad, and the options are a new date, a refund of the flight fare, or an Alphard-only day to Fuji by road.
That is why day 3 stays free. Moving the flight by one day is the simplest fix when a date is open; if you would rather not fly at all, the Alphard-only day still gets you to the lakes.

FAQ
Is the Fuji flight a sightseeing flight?
It is a one-way flight of 30 to 35 minutes from Tokyo Heliport to Oshino Heliport, with the bay, the city and the mountains below you on the way. If you want a route designed around the mountain and Hakone, book one of the scenic loops instead; they return to Tokyo Heliport.
Can we take suitcases on the helicopter?
No. The cabin is small and every kilogram counts towards the 120 kg per seat limit. You sleep in Tokyo again after the Fuji day, so leave your luggage at the hotel and bring a small bag.
What happens if the weather is bad on day 2?
You hear from us by 15:00 the day before. The flight moves to another date, the flight fare is refunded, or the day becomes an Alphard-only day by road. With day 3 kept free, moving by one day is often possible.
Can five of us fly together?
Not on this aircraft: it takes up to four passengers. A fifth passenger needs a second aircraft, which is quoted separately.
Will we see Mt Fuji?
Only if the weather allows. October can be clear or cloudy. Plan the trip for the experience of flying and the day at the lakes, and treat a clear view of the mountain as the bonus it is.
