Mt. Fuji helicopter tours

4 flights · from ¥184,500

By road, Tokyo to the foot of Mt. Fuji takes two to three hours each way. By helicopter the same distance is a 30–40 minute flight, and the flight itself is the best part: Tokyo Bay falls away behind you, the Hakone range rises, then the mountain stands alone above the plain. The 75-minute circuit reaches Hakone and returns; 90 minutes adds Kamakura; 120 minutes goes all the way round the mountain and the Five Lakes. If you want to stay a while, take the direct hop to Oshino or Gotemba, or the golf-and-winery package — fly out, spend the day, fly back.

Frequently asked questions

Will I definitely see Mt. Fuji?
Nobody can promise that, and we won't either. The summit is often in cloud in the afternoon and through the humid summer; autumn and winter mornings are the clearest. A flight is only cancelled when the weather is unsafe — cloud on the peak is not a cancellation reason, and in that case the flight still covers Hakone, the lakes and the foot of the mountain as planned.
What are the seat and weight limits?
Each seat takes up to 120 kg; total passenger weight is capped at 220 kg on a three-seat helicopter and 330 kg on a five-seat one. The pilot balances the aircraft with exactly these numbers, so we ask for every passenger's real weight at booking. A few kilos understated and the flight is cancelled at the pad.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The weather decides the flight, and the decision reaches your inbox at a fixed hour: departures between 09:00 and 12:00 are settled by 18:00 the evening before; from 12:30 by 10:00 on the day; from 16:30 by 15:00 on the day. If weather cancels the flight you choose a full refund or a free move to another date.
