The Two Observation Decks: Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria

Located 350m above the ground, the Tembo Deck is Tokyo Skytree’s main observation deck. Tembo Galleria (450m Above Ground)
The Tembo Galleria is located 450m above the ground, another 100m above the Tembo Deck. Its tube-shaped, glass-enclosed walkway creates the sensation of strolling through the sky. From Floor 445, you can walk up a gentle slope to Floor 450, the highest floor in the tower (Sorakara Point, approximately 451.2m above the ground), while enjoying an even more expansive view of Tokyo. From this higher vantage point than the Tembo Deck, a spectacular panorama unfolds, including Mount Fuji and the skyscrapers of Shinjuku.

Date-and-Time Reservation Tickets (Advance Booking)
Advance reservations may be available at a discounted price compared with same-day tickets. For example, the Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria combo ticket may sometimes be purchased at a discount of up to ¥400 compared with the same-day price. Advance reservations can be made through online vendors such as KKday or via the official website.
To ensure smooth entry, we especially recommend purchasing a date-and-time reservation ticket on days when crowds are expected.

The view from Tokyo Skytree takes on different expressions throughout the day. The transition from sunset to the nighttime cityscape is particularly breathtaking.
Aim for the Magic Hour
To see the sunset, we recommend going up to the observation deck about 1 hour before sunset and staying for the “twilight time (magic hour),” which lasts from 15 minutes after sunset for approximately 20 minutes. During this period, the sky turns royal blue and the city lights begin to sparkle, making it one of the most beautiful times for photographing the nighttime scenery.

A. Tokyo Skytree is particularly crowded on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, summer vacation, the year-end and New Year holidays, Christmas, and other extended holiday periods. To avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting on a weekday morning or later in the day, such as before viewing the nighttime scenery. Purchasing a date-and-time reservation ticket in advance can also reduce the time spent waiting in line to buy tickets. The crowd forecast calendar on the official website is another useful reference.
Q. How much time should I allow for the observation decks?
A. If you are visiting only the observation decks, allow 45 minutes–1 hour for the Tembo Deck, or approximately 1.5–2 hours if you also visit the Tembo Galleria. If you plan to include dining and shopping at Tokyo Solamachi or a visit to Sumida Aquarium, allow 3–5 hours, or half a day to 1 day. During busy periods, additional time may be needed for elevator waits and other delays.
Q. Can I re-enter after leaving the observation decks?
A. Unfortunately, Tokyo Skytree’s observation decks do not allow re-entry once you have exited. To enter again, you will need to purchase a new ticket, so please plan accordingly.
