Held every year in Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, the Tatsuno Summer Fireworks Festival is a major summer event that vividly illuminates the night sky against the lush natural backdrop of the Ibo River. Approximately 2,000 fireworks are launched, with highlights including the “Melody Fireworks,” which combine music and fireworks, and elaborate special-effects fireworks such as the approximately 100m-long “Waterfall of the Clear Ibo River.”

Venue and Map
The venue for the Tatsuno Summer Fireworks Festival is Chidorigahama Park along the Ibo River. With the magnificent flow of the Ibo River as a backdrop, visitors can enjoy powerful fireworks from close by. Numerous food stalls will also set up around the venue, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Access
By train The venue is approximately a 15-minute~20-minute walk from Hon-Tatsuno Station on the JR Kishin Line. The area around the station and the roads leading to the venue are expected to be extremely crowded on the day of the fireworks, so please allow plenty of extra time.
By car Several temporary parking lots will be available around the venue, but spaces are limited. Heavy congestion is expected on the day, so visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transportation or travel together in one car whenever possible. Please be aware that exiting the parking lots around Tatsuno City Hall and Chidorigahama Park may take some time after the fireworks end.
Traffic restrictions Extensive traffic restrictions will be implemented around the venue on the day of the fireworks. In particular, after traffic restrictions begin at 19:00, the restricted area on the west bank of the Ibo River can be used as a viewing area. When heading home toward Himeji or Kobe, recommended routes include taking a detour south from the Tominaga Sainoki intersection to National Route 2 or detouring to Prefectural Route 5.
Be careful of the last train Although the fireworks end at 20:30, keep in mind the time needed to leave the venue and navigate the crowds to the station. Plan to leave early so that you can catch the last train from JR Hon-Tatsuno Station.
Reserved Seating and Tickets
Reserved seating is not planned for the 2026 Tatsuno Summer Fireworks Festival. Everyone can watch the fireworks free of charge.
Lesser-Known Viewing Spots
The Tatsuno Summer Fireworks Festival attracts large crowds every year, but with a little planning, there are spots where you may be able to enjoy the fireworks while avoiding the worst of the congestion.
- Ibo River riverbank (within the traffic-restricted area) The west bank of the Ibo River around Chidorigahama Park, the main venue, will be opened as a viewing area after traffic restrictions begin at 19:00, and may offer a relatively relaxed place to watch the fireworks. However, arriving early to secure a spot is recommended.
- South-side sidewalk of Tatsuno Shin-Ohashi Bridge Pedestrian traffic is prohibited on the north-side shoulder of Tatsuno Shin-Ohashi Bridge, but the sidewalk on the south side can be used. From the bridge, the viewing point is somewhat farther away, but you may be able to enjoy a largely unobstructed panoramic view of the fireworks.
- Riverbanks upstream and downstream along the Ibo River The riverbanks along the Ibo River, a little farther from the main venue, may also allow you to watch the fireworks while avoiding some of the crowds. In particular, moving a little farther from the launch site should give you a wider view of the entire fireworks display. However, it is recommended that you check in advance whether trees or other obstacles will block your view.
