From JR Hamada Station, take the Iwami Kotsu bus bound for Shū, and arrive at either the “Hamada Osakana Ichiba-mae” or “Osakana Center-mae” bus stop in approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The venue is a short walk from the bus stops. Please note that there will be no additional temporary services on the regular bus routes.

By Car

The venue is approximately 10 minutes from the Hamada Interchange on the Hamada Expressway via National Route 9. Traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue on the day of the event. Parking near the venue is limited, so using public transportation or the shuttle buses described below is recommended.

Free Shuttle Buses

Free shuttle buses will operate between JR Hamada Station North Exit (the “Medical Center” bus stop), the World Children’s Museum (the “Kodomo Bijutsukan-mae” bus stop), and the venue. They are scheduled to run continuously from 16:30 to 22:30.

Be Careful of the Last Train Home

The fireworks are scheduled to end at 21:00, and the event is scheduled to finish at 22:00. Be sure to check the times of the last trains from JR Hamada Station and the regular bus services, and allow plenty of time when planning your trip home.

Reserved Seating and Tickets

No paid viewing seats will be available for the 2026 Sekishu Hamakko Summer Festival Fireworks Display.

However, all parking lots inside the venue will require payment. Advance ticket purchase is required to use the paid parking. Tickets will be sold through Ticket Pia for ¥3,000 per vehicle. Advance reservations and payment are required, and refunds are not available except if the event is canceled. Tickets can also be purchased from the multifunction copy machines inside 7-Eleven stores. The number of spaces in the paid parking lots is limited, and sales will end once the planned number of tickets has been reached, so those planning to drive are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

Best Viewing Spots

There are various places around Hamada Fishing Port from which you can enjoy the fireworks. While the lively atmosphere of the main venue is appealing, here are some less-known spots where you may be able to watch from a more relaxed setting.

• Roadside Station Yūhi Park Hamada Located on elevated ground a short distance from the venue, Roadside Station Yūhi Park Hamada is a recommended spot for taking in the fireworks from a distance. It is also known as a spectacular place to watch the sunset over the Sea of Japan, so you may be able to enjoy both the sunset and the fireworks. However, there were reports that many people visited in 2023 after viewing areas and food stalls were set up.

• Elevated Areas and Parks Around Hamada Port There are several elevated areas and parks around Hamada Fishing Port, and it may be possible to see the fireworks from afar. For example, fireworks launched with Hamada Marine Bridge in the background are especially impressive. It may be worth looking for a spot with an unobstructed view outside the traffic-restriction zone. Be careful not to enter private property or areas where access is prohibited.

• Around the World Children’s Museum and The University of Shimane The area around the World Children’s Museum, where the free shuttle buses depart and arrive, and The University of Shimane is relatively easy to access, as some parking spaces will be opened to the public on the day of the fireworks display. Although these spots are somewhat far from the venue, you may be able to avoid the crowds while watching the fireworks.

Q. Is it possible to film with a drone? A. The use of unmanned aircraft, including drones and remote-controlled airplanes, is prohibited in and around the venue. Please be aware that if a drone is found flying inside the venue, the fireworks display may be suspended.

Q. Are there restrooms near the venue? A. Restrooms will be available at the venue, but crowds and lines are expected before and after the fireworks. We recommend using the restrooms early.
