Prices are per person, for one seat on a shared flight; the private column is the whole aircraft as a private charter. Seats are the maximum passengers.

Because prices are per person, three people on a 3-seat flight each pay the per-person figure. A couple who want the cabin to themselves book the whole aircraft as a private charter, which is the seat price times the number of seats less 10%. Where two figures are shown, the first is the weekday price and the second applies on weekends and holidays. Flights marked "on request" are arranged through the helicopter tours page.

Which flight suits which group

Two spectators on a budget. The 10-minute Tokyo First Flight at ¥83,800 per person is the entry point. It is short, but it is a real helicopter over Tokyo, and it is the cheapest way to say you have done it.

Three friends who want the classic view. The 15-minute Skytree daytime flight at ¥128,100 per person, or the 22-minute Skytree night flight from ¥151,200 per person (¥165,200 on weekends and holidays) if you land in Tokyo in the evening after a closing-day Shinkansen.

A family of four or five. Five-seat aircraft fly the 30-minute Tokyo Sunset and Night flight, at ¥485,100 per person or ¥2,183,000 for the whole aircraft as a private charter, and the 120-minute Mt Fuji Grand Circuit, which seats 4–5 depending on the aircraft. The heli taxi and the golf day seat four; everything else in the list seats three.

A team celebrating a medal. Night flights over Tokyo photograph well and the 25-minute Twin Towers flight from ¥172,200 per person (¥184,800 on weekends and holidays) is the longer of the two night options for three people. Split into cabins of three if the group is bigger.

A once-in-a-lifetime day. The Mt Fuji and Hakone Scenic at 75 minutes and ¥641,900 per person (¥1,733,200 for the whole aircraft as a private charter) is the flight most people mean when they say "Fuji by helicopter".

Rules that decide whether you can fly

• Weight: 120 kg per seat, and a cabin total that depends on the seat count. A 3-seat cabin is limited to 220 kg total. Give honest weights when booking; the limit is a safety rule, not a guideline.
• Weather: if the operator cancels for weather, you get a full refund or a free date change. Autumn in Japan still has typhoons, so build a spare day into the plan if the flight matters.
• Date change: free up to 4 days before the flight.
• Payment: online at booking.
• Meeting time: the time on the page is when you must be at the heliport; the flight is about 30 minutes later.

If Games sessions might move your travel day, book the flight for a date with a buffer on both sides, then use the free date change if needed.

Fitting it into the Games calendar

Before the Games. Land at a Tokyo airport, fly the same evening or the next morning, then Shinkansen to Nagoya before the first football matches on 15 September or the opening ceremony on 19 September.

Between blocks of sessions. Athletics runs 23 to 29 September at Paloma Mizuho Stadium; tennis at Higashiyama Park runs 27 September to 3 October. If your tickets leave a two-day gap, a Tokyo night flight fits, with a return to Nagoya the next day.

After the closing ceremony on 4 October. The most common pattern: Shinkansen to Tokyo on 5 October, flight that evening or the following day, then fly home from Tokyo.

Around the Para Games, 18 to 24 October. Later in autumn, so daylight is shorter; check the meeting times for the night flights on your date.

Is there really no helicopter tour in Nagoya during the Games?

Not through us. Our flights leave from Tokyo Heliport at Shin-Kiba, Funabashi Heliport on the Chiba side of Tokyo Bay, the Mt Fuji region and Yokohama. Tokyo is about 1 hour 40 minutes from Nagoya by Shinkansen, which is why we frame this as an add-on before or after the Games.

How much does a flight cost per person?

What happens if the weather is bad?

A weather cancellation by the operator means a full refund or a free change of date. You can also change the date yourself for free up to 4 days before the flight.

Can a big supporters' group fly together?

The largest cabin is 5 seats, on the 30-minute Tokyo Sunset and Night flight and on the Mt Fuji Grand Circuit. Larger groups fly in several 3-seat cabins, one after another, which works well for a team celebration.

Do I need to book far ahead for the Games period?

We cannot predict demand for specific dates, so book once your Games tickets are confirmed and use the free date change if plans move. Payment is taken online when you book.
