Kimono in Kyoto — Gion, Fushimi Inari, or Arashiyama?

Kyoto has 4 Sakura Yuki branches covering all the city’s tourist spots. Gion is for the old streets + geisha. Fushimi Inari is for 10,000 torii. Arashiyama is for the bamboo grove. This guide helps you choose the right branch for your photo spots.

Sakura Yuki Gion — For old streets + Kiyomizu

Address: 祇園四条. Open 10:00-17:30. Gion Hanamachi is Kyoto’s oldest geisha district, with 2-3-storey wooden houses and stone-paved streets. You may see maiko/geisha (geisha apprentice) walking around in the evening. Nearby: Yasaka Shrine, 5 minutes away; Kiyomizu-dera, a 15-minute uphill walk. Best for the Premium / Antique Silk packages.

Sakura Yuki Fushimi Inari — For 10,000 torii

Address: 伏見稲荷. Open 10:00-17:30. Right beside Fushimi Inari Taisha — 10,000 red torii gates climbing Mount Inari. Reaching the summit at 233m takes 2-3 hours, but photographing just the first 100 torii is more than enough (30 minutes). Choose early morning or golden hour for fewer people.

Sakura Yuki Arashiyama — For bamboo + bridge

Address: 嵐山. Open 10:00-17:30. Arashiyama is famous for the Bamboo Grove + Togetsukyo Bridge. The bamboo is best at 7-9h. Togetsukyo is beautiful all day, especially during golden hour when the mountains are in view. Nearby are the UNESCO-listed Tenryu-ji temple and Iwatayama monkey park. The area is easy to explore on foot, with no climbing required.

Sakura Yuki Kyoto Tower — For a travel hub

Address: 京都タワー2F. Open 10:00-17:30. Inside Kyoto Tower, right by JR Kyoto Station. Choose this branch IF: you are arriving in or leaving Kyoto by train the same day, staying at a hotel near Kyoto Station, or are not sure which spot you will visit. From here, take a Hankyu/JR train or a taxi to Gion (15 minutes), Fushimi (5 minutes), or Arashiyama (15 minutes).

Which branch should I choose?

**Visiting just 1 spot**: Choose the branch closest to that spot. Gion → Gion store. Fushimi Inari → Fushimi store. Arashiyama → Arashiyama store. **Visiting 2–3 spots in one day**: Use Sakura Yuki Kyoto Tower as your base and take the train 5–15 minutes to each spot. This saves more time than renting in Gion and carrying your kimono to Fushimi (2 trains + 40 minutes). **Visiting for 2 days**: Choose the 翌日返却 package for +¥1,100: Gion + Kiyomizu on day 1, then Fushimi + Arashiyama on day 2.
