Night flights that suit a celebration

Night flights are what most groups want for a celebration because the city lights make the moment, and because they come after a full day. These are the current night options:

• Tokyo Skytree Night, 22 minutes, 3 seats, from ¥151,200 per person (¥165,200 on weekends and holidays); the whole aircraft as a private charter is ¥408,300 to ¥446,100.
• Tokyo Twin Towers Night, 25 minutes, 3 seats, from ¥172,200 per person (¥184,800 on weekends and holidays); private charter ¥465,000 to ¥499,000.
• Tokyo Sunset and Night, 30 minutes, 5 seats, ¥485,100 per person; private charter ¥2,183,000.
• Saitama Misato Night Cruise, 18 minutes, 3 seats, from ¥156,800 per person (¥169,400 on weekends and holidays), private charter ¥423,400 to ¥457,400, Misato Heliport, Saitama.
• Yokohama Night Cruise, 40 minutes, 3 seats, from ¥254,800 per person (¥268,800 on weekends and holidays); private charter ¥688,000 to ¥725,800.

For a group of four or five who want to fly together, the Sunset and Night flight is the one. For a bigger group splitting into 3-seat cabins, the two 3-seat Tokyo night flights from Funabashi Heliport, Skytree Night and Twin Towers Night, are the easiest to run back to back, because everyone meets at the same heliport and the waiting members can watch the aircraft leave and return.

Remember that the time on the product page is the meeting time and departure is roughly 30 minutes later. With several cabins, the group is at the heliport for a while; plan dinner afterwards, not before.

Giving the flight as a gift

Supporters often want to pay for the athlete's cabin as a surprise. This is how to do it cleanly:

1. Decide the cabin and the date, and book it in the normal way with online payment. Booking is per seat, or per aircraft as a private charter, so you are buying seats, not a voucher.
2. Put the passengers' names and honest weights on the booking. The operator needs them for seat allocation; a surprise does not survive a failed weigh-in.
3. Keep the free date change in mind. It is free up to 4 days before the flight, so if the athlete's travel plans shift after the medal ceremony, the date can move once without cost.
4. If you would prefer an open-dated arrangement, or want something waiting at the heliport such as flowers or a banner, write it in the booking form. We will tell you straight what can be arranged for that location and date. Not every request is possible everywhere.

Weather cancellations are refunded in full or moved for free, so the gift is protected on that side too.

Timing around medal days

Medal events are spread across 16 days and more than 50 venues, so the celebration date depends on your sport. A few anchors from the confirmed schedule:

• Artistic gymnastics at Kasugai City Gymnasium finishes on 24 September.
• Athletics at Paloma Mizuho Stadium runs 23 to 29 September.
• Shooting at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Range in Toyota runs 20 September to 1 October.
• The men's football tournament runs to 3 October, with the final at Toyota Stadium.
• Water polo at the Nippon Gaishi Hall Rainbow Pool runs 20 September to 3 October.
• The closing ceremony is 4 October.

For sports not listed here, check the official schedule for your medal date. Whatever it is, do not book the flight for the same evening as the medal or the closing ceremony. Nagoya to Tokyo is 1 hour 40 minutes, Shin-Kiba is across the city, Funabashi Heliport is across Tokyo Bay on the Chiba side, and late trains after big events are heavy. Fly the next evening or the one after, with a spare day for weather.

Practicalities the whole group should know

• Weight: 120 kg per seat; a 3-seat cabin is limited to 220 kg in total. Cabin totals for 4 and 5 seats are on the product pages.
• Payment: online at booking, per seat or per aircraft for a private charter.
• Changes: free date change up to 4 days before. Weather cancellation, full refund or free date change.
• Meeting: the published time is when to be at the heliport. Flight about 30 minutes later.
• Medals and flags in the cabin: ask at the briefing. Small items are usually fine; anything that could obstruct or come loose is the crew's call.

FAQ

Can the whole team of twelve fly at once?

No. The largest cabin is 5 seats. Twelve people means four 3-seat cabins in consecutive slots, or a mix. Tell us the total and we will check what the evening's schedule allows.

Is there any way to celebrate by helicopter in Nagoya?

Not through us. Our flights are Tokyo, Funabashi in Chiba, the Mt Fuji region and Yokohama only. The Shinkansen makes Tokyo an easy next stop after the Games.

Can we book without knowing who will win?

Yes, because the date can be changed for free up to 4 days before the flight. Book a date after your sport's final, then move it if travel plans change.

How do we split the cost fairly?

Prices are per person, so everyone simply pays for their own seat: from ¥172,200 each on Tokyo Twin Towers Night, ¥485,100 each on Tokyo Sunset and Night. If you take the whole aircraft as a private charter instead (¥465,000 and ¥2,183,000 respectively), divide that figure by the number of seats actually used.

What if one supporter is over 120 kg?

The per-seat limit is fixed at 120 kg on every flight. Please check weights before booking rather than at the heliport.
