The venue, Onagawa Town Coastal Plaza, is conveniently located just about 5 minutes on foot from Onagawa Station on the JR Ishinomaki Line. From Sendai Station, it takes approximately 60 minutes to reach Ishinomaki Station via the JR Senseki Line or JR Senseki-Tohoku Line, followed by approximately 30 minutes on the JR Ishinomaki Line to Onagawa Station.

Notes:

• Heavy traffic and congestion are expected on the day of the festival, so using public transportation is strongly recommended.
• The station is expected to be extremely crowded around departure time. Check the timetable for the last JR Ishinomaki Line train in advance and allow plenty of time for your journey home.

By Car

The venue is approximately 30 minutes from the Ishinomaki-Onagawa IC on the Sanriku Expressway.

Parking: Approximately 2,000 spaces are available in free municipal parking lots around Onagawa Station, the Kogane area, and Onagawa Town Coastal Plaza. These lots are open free of charge 24 hours a day, so please make use of them.

Traffic Restrictions: Traffic restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 to 21:00 on the day of the festival in parts of the area around the venue, including the fishing-port roads. To help ease congestion, using public transportation whenever possible is recommended.

Paid Seating and Tickets

There are no paid seating areas for the “59th Onagawa Minato Festival & Marine Fireworks Display.” All viewing areas are free of charge. If you want to secure a good viewing spot, it is recommended that you arrive at the venue early.

By finding a hill a little farther from the venue, you may be able to avoid the crowds and watch the fireworks in peace. However, be careful not to enter private property or restricted areas, and it is recommended that you check a map in advance.

Around Seapal-Pier Onagawa Strictly speaking, this is not a hidden spot, but the area around “Seapal-Pier Onagawa,” the commercial complex in front of Onagawa Station, is lined with restaurants and shops, allowing you to enjoy the fireworks amid a lively atmosphere. It is also relatively close to the launch site, so you can experience the powerful fireworks at close range. Arriving early and securing a spot while enjoying a meal or doing some shopping is recommended.
