The nearest station to the Okutama Summer Fireworks Festival is JR Ome Line Okutama Station, and the viewing area is located immediately outside the station. The journey from Shinjuku Station takes approximately 2 hours on the Ome Line.

The event typically attracts between 10,000 and 13,000 people, so using public transportation is recommended. Special trains may operate on the day, but Okutama Station becomes extremely crowded after the fireworks, and long lines may form just to enter the ticket gates. The last trains also run relatively early, so be sure to plan plenty of time for your return journey.

Tickets for 2026 will be sold through Ticket Pia from 10:00 on Wednesday, July 1, Reiwa 8, through 23:59 on Friday, August 7, but sales will end as soon as tickets sell out. Elevated areas around Okutama Station: There are several spots around Okutama Station with few buildings obstructing the view, allowing you to watch the fireworks from a relatively high vantage point. These areas are recommended for visitors who want to avoid the station crowds while still enjoying the powerful experience of being close to the launch site.
2. Around Oku-Hikawa Shrine: The area around the Oku-Hikawa Shrine festival venue, held at the same time as the fireworks festival, is also suitable for viewing the fireworks. You can enjoy the festive atmosphere while watching the show.
3. Around Hatonosu Gorge: Although it is a little farther from Okutama Station, the area around Hatonosu Gorge is a scenic spot surrounded by nature where you may be able to watch the fireworks in relative peace. However, because it is some distance from the venue, the fireworks may feel somewhat less powerful. We recommend checking the location in advance and confirming that you will have an unobstructed view.
