Getting There

The Nanki-Shirahama Fireworks Festa can be reached by either public transportation or car.

By Public Transportation

From JR Shirahama Station on the Kinokuni Line, take a Meiko Bus bound for Sandanbeki. The journey takes approximately 14 minutes, and you will arrive at the Shirarahama bus stop. The venue is just a short walk from the bus stop.

By Car

From Nanki-Shirahama IC on the Kisei Expressway, take the Flower Line Prefectural Road (Prefectural Route 34) toward Shirarahama. The drive takes approximately 10 minutes.

Parking and Traffic Restrictions

Traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue on the day of the fireworks festival. In previous years, restrictions have sometimes been imposed from around 19:00 until around 23:00, so allowing plenty of extra time is recommended. Please note that during the restrictions, it may not be possible to exit parking lots located along restricted roads.

The former Nanki-Shirahama Airport site will be opened as a free temporary parking area. It is a large space capable of accommodating approximately 1,000 vehicles, but it takes about 30 minutes to walk from there to Shirarahama, the venue. The route also includes hills, so families with small children should allow extra time for the journey. There are also privately operated paid parking lots around the venue. As parking lots are expected to fill up early, arriving by around 17:00 is recommended.

Be Careful Not to Miss the Last Train

After the fireworks end, severe traffic jams can occur on the roads and in parking lots around the venue. If you are using public transportation, check bus and train schedules in advance and take care not to miss the last service.
