Access

Mihama Town Sports Park can be reached by either public transportation or car.

By Train

• It is approximately a 20–30-minute walk from Mihama Station on the JR Obama Line.
• It is approximately a 15-minute walk from Kiyama Station on the JR Obama Line.

【Notes for crowded periods】 The stations and trains around the venue are expected to be extremely crowded on the day of the fireworks display. In particular, it may take some time to board a return train after the fireworks end, so plan your movements with plenty of extra time. We also recommend checking the time of the last train in advance.

By Car

• It is approximately 5 minutes by car from the Wakasa-Mikata IC on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway.
• From the Wakasa-Mihama IC on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway, take National Route 27 toward Lake Kugushi for approximately 7km, which takes about 15 minutes by car.

【About parking】 Approximately 200–600 parking spaces will be available at the venue, but capacity is limited. Heavy traffic is expected on the day, so visitors are encouraged to use public transportation whenever possible or travel together in the same vehicle.

【Traffic restrictions】 No large-scale traffic restrictions are scheduled around the venue, but traffic guidance will be provided at the entrances and exits of the sports park parking lot.

Reserved Seating and Tickets

“SUMMER FESTA MIHAMA 2026” will not offer paid viewing areas. Admission to the venue is free, so bring a picnic sheet or similar item and enjoy the fireworks from your preferred spot.

Less-Crowded Viewing Spots

There are several spots around Mihama Town Sports Park where you may be able to enjoy the fireworks in a relatively relaxed setting.

1. Along the shore of Lake Kugushi The lakeside area adjacent to Mihama Town Sports Park, the event venue, may offer beautiful views of the fireworks reflected on the lake. Moving a little farther from the venue may allow you to avoid the crowds and watch in a more peaceful setting.

2. Around Mihama Town Lake Center Mihama Town Lake Center is located on the eastern side of Lake Kugushi and may offer views of the fireworks across the lake. Although it is some distance from the venue, the open surroundings may allow you to take in the entire fireworks display.

3. The elevated area of the Otoba district The Otoba district, located southeast of Mihama Town Sports Park, includes some elevated areas. From here, you may be able to enjoy distant views of the fireworks together with Mihama Town’s nighttime scenery. However, trees and other obstructions may block the view, so we recommend checking the area in advance.

These viewing spots are not officially recommended, and visibility and crowd levels may vary depending on conditions on the day. Arrive early to secure a spot, and observe proper etiquette so as not to inconvenience those around you.
