Venue and Map
The Matsue Suigosai Lake Fireworks Festival takes place on beautiful Lake Shinji, located in central Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. The fireworks are launched from floating platforms set up at 4 locations on the lake, and their reflections shimmering across the water are one of the festival’s defining attractions. The main viewing areas are along the eastern shore of Lake Shinji, particularly around Shirakata Park and Suetsugu Park.
Access
Extensive traffic restrictions will be put in place around the venue on the day of the fireworks festival, and the area will be extremely crowded. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.
By train
- Approximately a 1-minute walk from Ichibata Electric Railway’s Matsue Shinjiko-Onsen Station.
- Approximately a 15–27-minute walk from the north exit of JR Matsue Station.
- Ichibata Electric Railway services are infrequent, so check the timetable in advance and be careful not to miss your train.
By car
- Approximately 10 minutes from the Matsue-nishi IC on the San'in Expressway.
- Extensive traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue. Check the official website for restriction information.
- Temporary paid parking lots will be available, but tickets must be purchased in advance. Please purchase your parking ticket ahead of time through Lawson Ticket (L code: 67778).
- Parking lots are expected to be crowded on the day of the event, so please help by using public transportation.
Be aware of the last trains The nearest stations will be extremely crowded after the fireworks end. Since the number of trains and the times of the last services are limited, particularly at JR Matsue Station and Matsue Shinjiko-Onsen Station, check the timetable in advance and allow plenty of time.
Reserved Seating and Tickets
At the 2026 Matsue Suigosai Lake Fireworks Festival, paid seating will be available for a more comfortable viewing experience. Sales began on Saturday, June 6, and tickets can be purchased at Matsue Terrsa, the Shimane Prefectural Civic Center ticket counter, Mishimaya (all stores in Matsue), Sun-in Marui Kuroda store, and other locations.
