Access

Roads around the venue become extremely congested on the day of the fireworks festival, so visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.

By train Takeno Beach is approximately a 15–20-minute walk from Takeno Station on the JR San-in Main Line. There are plenty of signs guiding visitors from the station to the venue, making it a relatively easy route to follow even for first-time visitors. The station is expected to be extremely crowded after the fireworks end, so be sure to purchase your return ticket in advance and check the last train schedule. Special trains are also scheduled to operate between JR Toyooka Station and Takeno Station in 2026.

By car From the Hidaka-Kannabe-Kogen IC on the Kitakinki-Toyooka Expressway, the venue is approximately 40 minutes away by car via National Routes 312 and 178.

Please note that extensive traffic restrictions will be in effect around the venue on the day of the event. Between 19:00 and 22:00, vehicles will be prohibited on Kitamae Nagisa-dori (from in front of Hino-de-so to the Takeno Beach Ottotto area). Voluntary traffic restrictions are also scheduled during the same hours on the section from the Takeno Lawson intersection to in front of the Takeno Tourist Center.

Temporary parking lots will be available, but parking will be paid on the day of the fireworks festival, and heavy congestion is expected. In particular, parking fees will be revised after 16:00 to include a fireworks sponsorship contribution. Even if you reserve a paid viewing seat that includes parking, be sure to take the hours of traffic restrictions into account.

Reserved Seating and Tickets

The Takeno Marine Fireworks Festival offers special viewing areas where visitors can enjoy the fireworks in comfort. The types of reserved seating and approximate prices for 2026 are as follows.

• Pair seating: ¥11,000 (up to 2 people)
  • Includes 2 tatami mats’ worth ofござ flooring, 2 floor chairs, a table, and a tabletop light.
  • Adding reserved parking costs an additional ¥3,000 on top of the regular price (first come, first served; limited quantity).
• Group seating: ¥18,000 (up to 4 people)
  • Includes 2 tatami mats’ worth ofござ flooring, 4 floor chairs, a table, and a tabletop light.
  • Adding reserved parking costs an additional ¥3,000 on top of the regular price (first come, first served; limited quantity).
• Masu seating: ¥7,000 (includes a sheet; no parking)
  • A designated space where families and groups can relax, with a sheet provided.

Tickets will be sold through the official website and other outlets. Cancellations, changes, and refunds are generally not possible after purchase. However, ticket prices will be refunded if the organizers cancel the fireworks festival due to severe weather or other circumstances.

Lesser-Known Viewing Spots

The beach at Takeno Beach, the main venue, offers an incredibly powerful viewing experience. However, those who want to avoid the crowds may prefer watching from a little farther away.

• Around Takeno Port (west of the venue): The area around Takeno Port, located a short distance west of the venue, is a relatively peaceful spot with a broad view of the fireworks. It is recommended for those who want to appreciate the expansive spectacle unique to fireworks launched over the sea.
• Around the Kirihama campground: Located east of Takeno Beach, Kirihama is a hidden gem where you can enjoy the fireworks in a lush natural setting. Watching the fireworks while camping is another appealing option.
• Bentenhama: This small beach farther east of Takeno Beach is recommended for those who want to avoid the crowds and watch the fireworks in peace. However, be sure to check access details in advance.
• Eastern coastal area and around the breakwater: The coastline and breakwater area east of Takeno Beach are also good places to watch the fireworks while avoiding the crowds at the main venue.

Before heading to any of these lesser-known viewing spots, we recommend checking their locations on a map in advance, as well as researching traffic restrictions, parking availability, and nearby facilities.
