Access

Large-scale traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue on the day, and severe congestion is expected. Public transportation is strongly recommended.

Access by train
It takes approximately 10 minutes by taxi from JR Oita Station. Walking takes approximately 35 minutes.

Access by car
The venue is approximately 15 minutes from the Oita Interchange on the Oita Expressway.
Several temporary parking areas are scheduled to be set up around the venue, but spaces are limited.

• Oita Castle Ruins Park (approximately 150 spaces, approximately 13 minutes on foot to the venue)
• Motomachi Temporary Parking Area (approximately 100 spaces, approximately 25 minutes on foot to the venue)
• Heiwa Citizen’s Park Parking Lot (approximately 350 spaces, approximately 23 minutes on foot to the venue)
• Block 54 Parking Lot (approximately 240 spaces, approximately 30 minutes on foot to the venue)

However, there is also information that the official website has not listed any free temporary parking for general visitors for the 2026 event, so be sure to check the official website for the latest information.
It may also take approximately 10 minutes on foot from the parking areas to the viewing sections.

Traffic restrictions
Traffic restrictions will be in place around the launch site from 18:30 to 21:00 on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Please avoid coming by private car and consider using public transportation. No temporary bus service is scheduled.

Be careful not to miss the last train home
Public transportation heading toward JR Oita Station becomes extremely crowded after the fireworks. Visitors coming from farther away in particular should check their return train times in advance and allow plenty of time for their journey.

Paid Seating and Tickets

Oita “Yume” Fireworks 2026 offers paid viewing areas for a more comfortable experience. Tickets will be sold by lottery, with applications accepted from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, through Tuesday, July 21, 2026. If there are more applicants than tickets, winners will be selected by lottery.

Viewing sections
Each section measures 2.5m × 2.5m and accommodates up to 9 people (children of elementary school age and older count as one person). Preschool children sitting on an adult’s lap are not counted toward the capacity, up to one preschool child per adult.

• Section only: ¥18,000 (50 available)
• Section with parking: ¥20,000 (140 available)
  • Parking will be prepared on the right bank downstream of Benten Ohashi Bridge, but specific viewing-section or parking locations cannot be selected.
• Message fireworks launch privilege and section with parking: ¥30,000 (10 available)
  • After the purchaser’s message is read aloud by the MC, one firework will be launched.

Stair seating
These paid seats are newly being installed on the riverside steps opposite the fireworks launch site. Each seat is 1m wide and accommodates 1 person.

• Stair seat: ¥2,000 (1155 available)
• Top-row seat: ¥3,000 (165 available)
  • Standing to take photos or watch the fireworks is permitted only in the top-row seats.
  • As no mats or other coverings are provided for the stair seating, bringing a plastic sheet, cushion, or similar item is recommended.

A separate system fee of 385 yen (tax included) applies to all tickets.
Tickets can be purchased through the ticket sales website “TicketPay.”
Fireworks can also be viewed at J-Lease Stadium for an admission fee of 500 yen.
Revenue from the paid viewing sections will be used to cover the ongoing costs of holding the fireworks festival.

Oita River Riverside (near Benten Ohashi Bridge and Soran Ohashi Bridge) The riverbank along the Oita River, close to the launch site, offers unobstructed views and the chance to enjoy powerful fireworks from nearby. Around Benten Ohashi Bridge and Soran Ohashi Bridge in particular, you can quietly watch the fantastical fireworks reflected on the surface of the river. Bringing a picnic sheet and enjoying the fireworks in the open surroundings is recommended.

2. Bentenjima Park This park is downstream of Benten Ohashi Bridge, relatively close to the launch site. You can watch the vivid fireworks up close, and their reflections on the river are especially beautiful. It is also an excellent spot for photography, but there is no parking, so using public transportation is recommended.

3. Otorikōen Park Located a little farther from the venue, Otorikōen Park is a lesser-known spot with expansive lawns and relatively light crowds. It is especially recommended for those who want to sit back and watch the fireworks at a leisurely pace. 4. CITY SPA てんくう From CITY SPA てんくう, a hot-spring facility inside the commercial complex “JR Oita City” directly connected to Oita Station, you can watch the fireworks from an upper floor. This luxurious spot lets you enjoy the fireworks and nighttime cityscape at the same time in a comfortable space away from the crowds. However, it is extremely popular on the day of the fireworks, and advance reservations may be required.

Ryozen Observatory Ryozen Observatory, located on elevated ground a short distance from central Oita City, is a hidden gem where you can take in the fireworks along with a distant view of Oita’s nighttime cityscape. It is recommended for couples and others who want to enjoy the fireworks in a romantic atmosphere away from the bustle of the venue.
