Japan's ultimate coastal escape: start under Mt. Fuji and follow the water all the way to the lighthouse at the tip of Izu. A lake-side ryokan night at Kawaguchiko, the mossy temple town of Shuzenji, wasabi farms and gold-mine cliffs on the west coast, the white sand of Shimoda where Japan opened to the world — and seafood that goes straight from the morning boats to your dinner tray. Six onsen towns, one private car, and the sea on your right almost every afternoon.

Arrival in Tokyo · 300 min
Private transfer from Narita or Haneda, an easy evening near the hotel — tomorrow the mountain, then the sea.
Mt. Fuji & Lake Kawaguchi · 480 min
Out early for the Fuji Five Lakes: Oishi Park's lakeside path, the Chureito Pagoda climb, houtou noodle lunch — then a ryokan on the north shore where the mountain fills the bath window at dawn.
Mishima Skywalk & into Shuzenji · 480 min
Cross Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge with Fuji behind and Suruga Bay below, then wind into the Izu hills to Shuzenji: vermilion bridges, a bamboo path, and the oldest hot spring on the peninsula.
West Coast — Wasabi, Gold Cliffs & Sunset · 480 min
A wasabi farm terraced up a mountain stream, the old gold-mine cliffs of Toi, and the coast road south as the sun drops into the sea — the west side of Izu is one long viewpoint. Back to Shuzenji for a second soak.
Cape Irozaki & Shimoda · 480 min
To the peninsula's very tip: the lighthouse at Irozaki, cliff walks over turquoise coves, then Shimoda — Perry's black ships, the nostalgic old quarter, and a seaside onsen hotel above white sand.
Shimoda Free Day — Beaches & Boats · 480 min
Shirahama's white crescent for swimmers, a glass-bottom bay cruise, sea-cave kayaking in season — or nothing at all but the rotenburo and a book. Kinmedai — the local golden-eye snapper — for the farewell dinner.
Coast Road Home · 300 min
North along the east coast with the Izu islands offshore, a last onsen-town stop in Atami, and the shinkansen or private car back into Tokyo by late afternoon.
