Two floors covered in gold leaf, standing over a pond that mirrors them on a still morning. Admission is paid on site.
11:00Arashiyama — bamboo grove & Togetsukyo Bridge· 90 min
The bamboo path and the Moon Crossing Bridge over the Katsura River, with lunch time in the surrounding streets.
14:00Fushimi Inari Taisha — the torii tunnels· 70 min
The vermilion gate tunnels that start behind the main hall. We walk the lower section; the full climb to the summit takes 2–3 hours and is not part of the tour.
16:00Nara Park & Todai-ji· 90 min
Free-roaming deer that bow for a cracker, and the vast wooden hall of Todai-ji housing the Great Buddha.
19:00Drop-off in Osaka or Kyoto
