- Coach version of the Fujiten ski day: ¥6,900 per person covers transport only; lift pass, rentals and lunch are paid at the resort, so bring a card or yen.
- Snow clothing can be rented on site — come from a city hotel with just gloves and goggles.
- Passport holders from the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand enter Japan visa-free for up to 90 days as tourists. Filling in Visit Japan Web before you fly gives you a QR code that speeds up immigration and customs.
- There is no tipping culture in Japan — the driver and guide are fully paid; a thank-you is enough.
- Cards are accepted in most shops and restaurants, but small shrines, food stalls and some rural cafés are cash-only. Keep some yen on you.
- Japan is UTC+9 with no daylight saving. A 07:00 or 08:00 pickup is normal for day trips out of Tokyo — the roads are clear before 8.

Leave Tokyo at 07:00 and be on the snow by 09:30: Fujiten Snow Resort sits on the northern slope of Mt Fuji in Yamanashi, with ski and snowboard rental, a ski school and a kids' snow park on site — good for families and first-timers. Five hours on the slopes (10:00–12:30 and 13:30–15:30), then Lake Kawaguchi and Oishi Park for the classic Fuji-over-snow view before the drive back, arriving Tokyo 19:00. ¥6,900 per person covers the coach; lift pass, rentals and lunch are paid at the resort.
