Overview
Sanso Murata consists of twelve independent villas on a wooded hillside in Yufuin, most assembled from relocated traditional houses and refitted with modern Western living spaces. Villas range from 63 m² units for two to 165 m² houses with irori hearths for up to eight, and each has its own free-flowing hot-spring bath; there is no shared bath. Dinner is served in the villa or in a private room of the main building depending on the villa. The grounds also hold the chocolatier théomurata, the artegio sound museum, Tan's Bar, a soba restaurant and a guests-only tea room.
