Kotohira Kadan

Kotohira Kadan began in 1627 as a pilgrims' inn on the approach to Kotohira-gu and reopened in 1905 as a restaurant-inn of detached cottages. Three historic cottages still stand in the stroll garden, while guest wings include Fujimidai, renovated in 2018 with views over the Sanuki plain, the east-facing Western rooms of Shogetsu Terrace, and garden-side Sansuikaku, where suites with private onsen open-air baths were added in 2019 and 2023. The onsen is Chikoin water from the Konpira spa area. Dinner is kaiseki using Sanuki beef, olive pork and local vegetables, served in a dining room, private room or selected guest rooms.
