Overview
Funaya has operated in Dogo, Matsuyama, since 1627 and sits about three minutes on foot from Dogo Onsen Honkan and the tram terminus. Its 58 rooms range from compact twins to club-floor Japanese rooms and suites with hinoki baths fed by Dogo water, most facing the Eifutei garden with its stream. The two large baths, one in cypress and one in Oshima granite, each add an open-air tub and sauna and swap between men and women, so staying guests can try both. Japanese and Western head chefs cook dinner, served in the room for some room types, and the inn has banquet halls for up to about 110.
