Arima Onsen Gekkoen Yugetsusanso

Yugetsusanso is the older of Gekkoen's two buildings in Arima Onsen, a wooden sukiya-style inn built on the hillside above the Takigawa stream and linked to the lobby by the Gekko bridge. Its 40 rooms are mostly 8- to 12-tatami Japanese rooms, plus two 20-tatami rooms for large parties and two premium rooms with open-air baths and in-room kaiseki. The riverside open-air baths run Arima's sodium chloride water as kakenagashi, and guests can also use the sister building Kourokan's baths and bookable private baths. Dinner is a buffet of about 50 Japanese dishes with a live kitchen.

No elevator in the 1950s wooden building and stairs from lobby to rooms; wheelchairs on loan; the reservable hinoki private bath is barrier-free. The inn suggests its sister building Kourokan (with elevator) for guests who cannot manage stairs.
