Overview

KAI Anjin is a Hoshino Resorts onsen ryokan on the Ito waterfront, about five minutes by car from Ito Station, on land linked to William Adams, the English navigator known in Japan as Miura Anjin. All 45 rooms have ocean views, and the regional 'Anjin minato' rooms use artwork made from old ship timber. The large bath looks straight out over the Pacific from both outdoor and granite indoor tubs, with IPA beer and soft drinks after bathing. Dinner is a Japanese kaiseki using Izu ingredients with British-inspired dishes. Rooms take one to four guests, pets are accepted in one room, and parking is free.
