Overview

Syoenso Hozugawatei stands in the small Yunohana Onsen area of Kameoka, a short drive from the Hozugawa river boats and about 40 minutes from Arashiyama. The spring is a mild, weakly radioactive water. The second-floor bath complex has a large jet and Jacuzzi tub, charcoal and herbal baths, a hinoki bath and a stone open-air bath beside a small waterfall. Rooms range from spacious tatami rooms for families to twins and a suite with private onsen open-air baths. Dinner uses fish from Kyoto's central market and Tamba beef; breakfast becomes a buffet from October 2026. A free station shuttle runs on a timetable.
