Arashiyama Onsen Hanaikada

Hanaikada stands by the southern end of Togetsukyo Bridge, five minutes on foot from Arashiyama's train stations and within walking distance of Tenryu-ji and the bamboo grove. It has 15 rooms, mostly Japanese rooms, some facing the Oi River, plus two detached special rooms with onsen open-air baths. The alkaline Arashiyama Onsen water fills rooftop open-air baths with views of Togetsukyo and Mt Ogura, third-floor cypress and bamboo baths, and a private rooftop bath. Dinner is a monthly Kyoto kaiseki served in the room; breakfast includes tofu you set yourself.
