Highlights

The biggest attraction is the approximately 8,000 fireworks launched in sync with music. Their light is reflected on the surface of the Chikuma River, creating a sweeping vista made possible by the open setting along the riverbed.

Another highlight is the competition between 3 local fireworks companies. Since each company brings its own distinctive creations, one of the festival’s unique charms is being able to compare their different styles within a single event.

The venue is within walking distance of Ueda Station, making this a fireworks festival with excellent train access.

Reserved Seating and Tickets

Reserved seating will be available along the right bank of the Chikuma River riverbed (on the Ueda Station side).

There will be no same-day sales. Sales will end once the planned number of tickets has been reached, so anyone who wants to secure a seat is advised to purchase early.

Even without reserved seating, there are places where you can enjoy the fireworks for free.

1. Free Riverbed Areas Around the Venue

The riverbed outside the main venue is open to the public free of charge. It is close to the launch area, so you will still get an impressive view. Arrive early to claim a spot, spread out a picnic sheet, and enjoy the show comfortably.

2. Around Ueda Bridge

There are few obstructions around the bridge, making it a good spot for taking in the entire fireworks display. However, please be especially careful not to stop on the bridge in a way that obstructs pedestrian traffic.

3. Chikuma River Right-Bank Embankment (Outside the Main Area)

The embankment a short distance from the main venue is generally less crowded, allowing for a more relaxed viewing experience. Because it is farther away, this spot is especially suitable for those who want to avoid the crowds or are visiting with young children.
