The Sagano Bamboo Forest extends 500 meters through Arashiyama, accessible by walking past Nonomiya Shrine toward Okochi Sanso Villa. As you move through towering bamboo stalks, wind whistling through the canopy produces sounds recognized among Japan's 100 most valued acoustic phenomena deserving preservation.
