Yarimikan

Yarimikan is a single inn on the Kamata River at Shin-Hotaka, deep in the Northern Alps, built in the style of an old farmhouse with heavy beams and irori hearths. Its baths use free-flowing water from its own and a shared source, without recirculation or chlorine. The riverside mixed bath Yarimi-no-yu looks up to Mt Yarigatake, and four private open-air baths can be used free of charge whenever they are vacant. Two storehouse-style cottages have their own open-air baths. Dinner centres on charcoal-grilled char and Hida beef, as the inn is a designated Hida beef restaurant. The Shin-Hotaka Ropeway is about five minutes away by car.
